The north winds this week and some needed boat maintenance, has given me a chance to catch up on blogs of my recent trips on Lake Erie out of Lorain, OH. We have noticed an increase for customers wanting to fish but only for a few hours. Noahs’ Ark offers full day walleye trips which is 8 hours or limit dock to dock on weekends and half day trips 4 hours or less on weekdays, for those wanting to experience fishing just not all day.
Bob and his family wanted to spend a few hours on the lake before college starts in a couple of weeks. His boys wanted to sleep in and get a later start which is also fine with me. Since retiring, I am able to give my customers the option of later starts since it’s their day and some come from quite far away. This day we ventured out about 8:30. The sun was already up and had warmed the chill that you get at dawn. By the time we set out two rods, we already had fish on. It was pretty much non-stop with white-bass, smaller walleye throwbacks and an occasional sheep-head(fresh water drum) keeping them all busy. As you can see from the videos on Noahs’ Ark Facebook page, I let my customers do everything including netting all their fish. We may lose some but no one seems to care. We ended up with 9 keepers in about 3 hours before calling it a day. I also received a promise from Bob saying, ” We had a great time and will be back again next year!”
There are still lots of opportunities left for you to book a charter in September and October. Weather permitting, Noahs’ Ark may be doing charters well into November. We have already booked trips for 2018!
