This was the day of the eclipse! We were wondering if it would have an affect on the bite.
Debbie and Will showed up at the dock for a day of walleye fishing on Lake Erie . Right off the bat, Will said that he didn’t expect much after the family fishing vacation in Canada last year. They had fished for 8 days in Canada and never caught a fish. Since Noah’s Ark had an awesome weekend, we headed out to the same area where we had been limiting on bigger fish. We didn’t have to wait long as we started bringing in quality walleye and had their limit by 11:30. We weren’t able to surmise what affect the eclipse had on the afternoon bite since we were already done fishing when it occurred. Maybe it helped the morning bite. That’s not a very scientific finding but it’s all I got!
Debbie couldn’t wait to show the pictures of the day’s catch to their family. She said they would not believe she caught a 28″ walleye! Needless to say I sent the pictures out right away. Better to be lucky than good.
