Well Noah’s Ark is down for a couple of weeks but that won’t stop me from joining in on a Tournament that is important to me. Craig Lewis of Erie Outfitters sponsors a tournament every year as a fundraiser in memory of his brother, Eric. Craig runs Erie Outfitters in Sheffield Lake and is probably the most knowledgeable, respected, hard working and helpful person.
With Noah’s Ark out of commission for a couple of weeks, I will be joining my son Ryan as a two man team in the tournament on Ryan’s boat Wild Tails. I’m excited to fish on a boat similar to the one that I fished on for my first 25 years on Lake Erie. At 8 years old I was fishing with my dad (and hero) and my uncle Rudy at Dell’s and Lenny’s out of Avon Lake. We would rent a 14’ boat and bring Uncle Rudy’s 10 h.p. Johnson to troll for walleyes with Mepp’s spinners and a worm. When I was old enough to buy my own boat, it was a 14’ Sea Nymph and I fished the shoreline for perch and walleye for 25 years. Being on Ryan’s 16’ Smoker Craft with a 40 horse Mariner will bring back many fond memories.
We may not get out to the buoy but there are a few holes between the ramp and the border holding some nice walleye. Do we think we have a chance to win? I will stick with it’s better to be lucky than good. But will we have fun being together and fishing old tricks? Absolutely.
Honored to be your friend and part of the tournament, Craig. If you want to support one of my closest friends visit his website. This is a great place to buy gift certificates for birthdays, Hanukkah, Christmas, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day etc. Love you all up to God and back and thanks for visiting my site. Thanks so much Sagi, Christie, and Sportsmen Creative for all the time you two spend on my facebook and website.
