This morning we started out of the harbor and had trouble getting up on plane. Wow, did I get some bad gas or what? I just filled both tanks and it looks like I have the defensive line of the Pittsburgh Steelers (they are from Pennsylvania) sitting on the back of the boat. Once they moved forward, we were up and running.
I told them that they get to do all the fishing on Noah’s Ark and they seemed excited to get started. We got two lines out and had two keepers on immediately! I don’t think we ever went more than a couple of minutes that we didn’t have a fish on. Several times we had 4 fish on at once!
Then a little mishap. I got a treble hook lodged in my thumb & these big boys were of no help. After watching me push it through and cut the barb off myself, my crew seemed a little queasy. Everyone thought the day was over but I started to reset all the lines and said lets get back to fishing. If it sounds like I am bragging, I am. It was cool and I’m an old man so deal with it. 🙂
It was a busy day again with a lot of undersized walleyes that had to be released. We still managed to fill the box with walleye, 2 huge perch and 2 huge white bass. We quit early because all of us had enough and they said that they would be back next spring. Awesome group of new best friends!
