My new friends from Pennsylvania were here in Ohio for a week of vacation and had a dozen walleye in the cooler by 9 A.M. It was one of those days on Lake Erie that the walleye fishing was awesome from start to finish. It started out choppy, but this tough crew fought through the sea sickness to set lines, net fish, and bait worm harnesses until they had enough.
We filled the cooler with walleye and huge white bass before calling it a day. The fishing never stopped but did slow down as the sun got hotter and the winds died down. I love when we get back to the dock and the customer says, “We should have brought another cooler” and “this was the best fishing trip we have ever been on.”
Better to be lucky than good.
