Daniel booked a trip for his dad Jim, relatives Jeff and his son Frank. Jeff had a boat for years at the Islands and said this was his best day ever catching walleye. Actually, I thought the bite was slow from the bug hatches and warm weather but they were very happy to get as many fish as they did on my 4 hour walleye trip now being offered. It was only supposed to be 2 and Daniel asked to bring the others at the last minute. The big surprise was that his dad just recovered from a fall and broken ribs and was sitting in the chair and taking it all in. The other guys were pulling and netting two fish at the same time so I grabbed a dipsey that was completely bent in half. I turned around and looked at Jim with a big smile and said, “Your up dad.” He made his way to the back of the boat and sat down in a chair I keep for those that want it. I handed him the rod and he looked up at me with a big grin and said, “This is going to be a big one”. Big one it was and bigger than any of them had ever seen before. Measured just over 30 inches and weighed 10.4 lbs. They all had a great time and said they would see me next year if not this September. Better to be lucky than good.
