It was a tough day on the lake Wednesday. Noah’s Ark came out of the harbor at 7am and was greeted by east winds at 20 mph., and 2 to 4 footers. I had 3 generations of family, Grandpa, Dad and son were visiting from South Dakota. Brody just graduated and his grandparents bought him a fishing charter for a gift. They are heading back to SD on Friday so this was only day they could fish. We went with the waves and by 11am we still didn’t have any fish in the box. The ribbing started and we were having a good laugh. I was feeling frustrated and then the first rod bowed over. Finally, one in the box but we lost the next two. By the end of the day, we had 11 in the box despite the rain that hit us and the wind changing from east to southeast to north. They had a blast and we probably changed lures 6 times at different colors and depths. They set lines like pros. They netted all the fish and managed to bring in two walleye on the outside of net. It ended up to be an awesome day that I hope Brody’s family will never forget! Better to be lucky than good.
