Brian and Jackie have been walleye fishing on Noah’s Ark for several years. The first trip this year was canceled due to weather and we rescheduled for this past Friday. Jackie emailed the day before and asked if 8 AM was okay. I said, “Well if it’s okay with you, better make it 7.” At this time of the year the walleye have been slowing down their bite late morning. She agreed to the 7 AM start. Friday morning they showed up on time with their son, Derek and Derek’s friend, Ethan. We headed out into deeper water as the walleye have moved out since the weather has been hotter which is typical for August. Jackie is a faithful follower of mine on Facebook and every time I post a charter she always replies on my timeline, “Hey, save some of those walleye for us!” That was not a problem on Saturday morning as we put a boat limit of 30 beautiful walleye into the cooler. Ethan who cleans the fish, said “This is a lot of meat.” Another great day with good friends on the big pond. Better to be lucky than good.
