Hard to believe it is September already! Woodie and his sons were my first charter this month after pulling the boat out for a few days of maintenance.
After a good cleaning, new spark plugs and a cleaned air filter the boat was running great, as was the walleye fishing.
Woodie and I reminisced about past days while his sons and my son, first mate Jason, were filling the cooler with healthy fighting walleye. Woodie talked about the many past fishing trips he’s had with his boys. All of them commented how they never experienced walleye fishing like this before. I told them the pressure was on because we had a nice string of limits going and I was fairly sure they didn’t want to be the ones to break it. Limit they did! In a few hours we were headed back to the dock with 24 walleye plus 1 bonus walleye and a bonus steelhead. They all left with the promise of coming back as soon as this year. Better to be lucky than good.
